The Parish commenced as a Church at Tarro in The Parish of Hexham in 1840.

Was formed as a Mission District of  Tarro, Beresfield and Thornton in 1956.

Was a Provisional District in 1970.

Was proclaimed the Parish of Beresfield in 1981.

           1983 Rev’d Peter Mumford

           1989 Rev’d Brian Bailey

           1991 Rev’d Dr. Peter Catt – Was Dean at Grafton Cathedral then to Brisbane

           1998 Rev’d Jeffrey Parker –  Was Rector of Forster/Tuncurry then to Dandenong

           2000 Rev’d Sue Woodcock – Retired

           2007 Rev’d Janet Killen - Renamed the Parish of Beresfield /Thornton
